Past/ Present: New York/ Miami

Two months ago after living in New York Mutherfucker City for 15 years, I decided to pack myself up and relocate to my beautiful hometown Miami, Florida. This decision of course was years in the making and good old NYC sure had a way of pulling me back year after year, by dangling that fat piece of cheese in front of my nose with awesome friends, opportunities, jobs and a social life everyone wishes for. New York is undeniably the best city in the states and I can only thank my lucky stars that I have been able to learn there, have a career there and make life long friends there. Since Ive moved back to Miami I have truly gotten to quite the noise in my head (of course while working on my tan) and focus on what I really want and think is important. Man, and you know what? It sure aint all the bullshit Ive been chasing in NYC for the past 10-15 years! The city of Miami has a wonderful way of putting things in perspective with the city's time and space. There is also, such a passionate community of people/Artists that are ready to collaborate, change the norm and drink Mojitos like its going out of style. I have also noticed most people here are aware and influenced by the nature surrounding them, and in turn sparks a curiosity in religion, practice and daily activities. Whether it be going to church, yoga, a full moon party, AA meeting or the gym, people here are seeking something....maybe even spiritually maybe. Now most times it is through a physical fad, yet still its a start. I really believe its because of the closeness to nature. In NYC we are surrounded by concrete, lord knows after 15 years it was starting to affect me, then I would go completely wild in the Summer and act like I had no sense, because it was just so nice outside! Here its Summer all year long and people are acting like they have no sense 24/7, its awesome... And you know why its awesome? Because NYC has trained and molded me to hustle, multitask, create projects and follow through while acting like a banshee! Miami, The Tattooed Ballerina is home!
